In January 2006, The National Council for Social Studies and the Children's Book Council announced Under a Stand Still Moon a Notable Trade Book 2006. To see all of the awards that Under a Stand Still Moon has won visit the books page. 

In late June of 2002, the paperback of The Magic of Ordinary Days was published with a new cover and Reading Group Guide.   The Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation aired on January 30, 2005 and was the highest rated television movie in over four seasons, watched by 18.7 million viewers. DVD sales have been outstanding. Because of the success of the movie, Hallmark Hall of Fame is planning a sequel, based on Creel's ideas in collaboration with a screenplay writer.

Creel currently has three young adult books under contract-- tow for American Girl for their 2007 Girl of the Year series and one to Brown Barn Books for a novel entitled The Stones of Heaven
